Shawn Livingston grew up in South Philadelphia. Shortly after graduating high school, he decided to serve his country and joined the United States Army with a life-long friend who he considers a brother. After several years of serving as an Army Scout, Shawn took the opportunity to attend West Virginia University while continuing his military service in the West Virginia Army National Guard. He soon found the desire to not only push himself further but to devote more to his country and became a Green Beret in the Army Special Forces. While stationed at Fort Bragg, Shawn met his future wife, Angela. He then moved to Northern Virginia to take on the task of assisting the Army National Guard to improve the Casualty Assistance and Notification Program for soldiers and their families. Shawn moved back to Raleigh and married Angela in 2008. In January of 2010, Shawn became the owner and Executive Director of the Huntington Learning Center of Raleigh. April made 2010 a monumental year when his son, Elias S. Livingston, was born. Today, Shawn, Angela, and Eli reside in Wake Forest.

Meaghan Shaffer

Meaghan Shaffer joined the Wake Young Professional Republicans in February 2011 and is now the Executive Director. Her background in leadership of young professional groups stems from her many years and roles in Alpha Kappa Psi, a co-ed professional business fraternity. Shaffer was the Secretary, Professional Trainer, Social Chair, and most recently the Chapter Advisory Board Member on Policy and Procedure. She aided in a re-vamp of the chapter bylaws and as an alumna, advised current members on policies.  Shaffer graduated from Canisius College of Buffalo, NY in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Management. She then began taking MBA classes with a concentration in Human Resources part time while continuing to work at a Health and Human Services Agency, People Inc. At People Inc she moved from a Direct Care Specialist to an Administrative Assistant in the Senior Living Department. In June of 2010, Shaffer and her fiancé Dan Paradise moved to Raleigh, NC, quite a distance from the Pacific Northwest, where she grew up and her parents continue to live. She currently is working as a Cash Office and Customer Service Team Member at Whole Foods Market in North Raleigh, where she plans on beginning a career.
